Baby bird of prey season has started. Sometimes wind or poorly built nest will cause babies to be on the ground. Sometimes babies are just starting to explore. If you find a baby on the ground PLEASE try to re-nest them. It is very expensive for rehabbers to raise and release baby bird of prey. Most of the babies we get are unintentionally kidnapped by well meaning people. Laundry baskets, milk crates and nest boxes will be used by the parents to continue to care for their young. Both parents care for the babies. And remember just because you don't see the adults, that doesn't mean they are not there. They watch from a distance.
